NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home
14 Hours
Classes start at 8:00 AM (2 days – 14 hours) Cost for class: $200.00
Any safe pistol can be used for this class. It is recommended that you train with 9mm or larger. Please contact me in advance to discuss what you intend to bring. (Please no single action revolvers.)
Student will need a minimum of 104 rounds of ammunition. (200 rounds recommended).
Student will learn basic defensive shooting skills and strategies for self defense.
Shooting will be from various positions (standing, kneeling, behind cover, etc.) while drawing from a holster.
Student will learn to shoot with one or both hands, point shooting, hip shooting, multiple targets, moving to cover, speed and tactical reloading.
This is an intensive course to learn to respond quickly and appropriately to the broad range of threats that may be encountered outside the home. Students will learn to safely draw from a holster and shoot in many different scenarios. Day one (nine hours) will include a great deal of classroom time, and dry fire and live fire exercises, to ensure the you can safely draw a loaded firearm from a holster. Day two (five hours) will be almost entirely hands on including shooting in many different scenarios.
All training and shooting is taught on private property (near Augusta airport) away from any other distractions. Classes are small with no other shooters present.
Safety Is The Number One Concern
All training places emphasis on safety first.
Basic handgun knowledge is necessary before attempting this class. “NRA Basic Pistol” training and “NRA Personal Protection in the Home” must be completed before taking this class.
What to bring: Guns and ammo, eye and ear protection (if available), knee pads, Strong side hip holster, extra magazines, beverages if you wish (no alcohol). You will need an item of clothing for concealment: shirt, jacket, etc. Also bring clothing for the weather conditions. Shooting will be outdoors.
